Customer: GIZ and Bavaria

Objective of the assignment: to design and set up Water Fund to secure commitment and funds from the public and private sectors to protect the Santurban Paramo region. The Paramo de Santurban  the Zulia and Pamplonita rivers are born, is a vital ecosystem for the production of water for over 1 million people and is fundamental for the development in the region.

How we did it: we supported the creation of a collective action platform directed at the environmental conservation of the two catchments. We generated scientifically sound information on the water budget and water allocation of the catchments, using the results from the application of the water footprint assessment. With the support from GIZ and Bavaria, we mobilised the funds required by Biocuenca.
